Conservata et perlecta aliis tradere

A historic moment for the University of Santo Tomas as our Miguel de Benavides Library was invited to participate in the prestigious conference "Conservata et perlecta aliis tradere: Libraries in Dialogue" at the Vatican Apostolic Library in Rome. From November 14-16, 2024, Fr. Angel Aparicio, O.P., Prefect of Libraries, and Ms. Maria Cecilia D. Lobo, Chief Librarian, represented UST among 23 renowned global libraries, including Harvard, Stanford, and the Vatican itself.
The event featured meaningful discussions on cultural policies, technological advances, and the future of librarianship, culminating in a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a concert by the Sistine Chapel Choir at the Sistine Chapel, along with a private audience with His Holiness Pope Francis. The Pope emphasized that the meeting signified the Vatican Library's openness to the world.
This unforgettable experience marks a significant milestone in our journey to strengthen ties with the global library community, share knowledge, and uphold the legacy of excellence that defines UST.
